EventCity has supported two charities close to the businesses heart this year, Charcot-Marie-Tooth UK and The Christie. Choosing two charities to work with each year, the selections always have a personal connection with a member of the team.
Running a number of small initiatives throughout 2018, the team were determined to hit new fundraising heights this summer. They hiked to the very top of 1,085m Mount Snowdon, on Saturday 7th July - one of the hottest days of 2018.
Temperatures soared to around 33°, but that didn’t stop the team as they raised a huge £3,141.17 for the two deserving causes. One employee, Andy Roman, even battled the heat in a hefty dinosaur costume, encouraging friends and family to donate just that little bit more.
Supporting Charcot-Marie-Tooth UK, the charity raises funds to offer assistance and support to those affected by the genetic condition, Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, which affects around 25,000 people in the UK.
The Christie, leading experts in cancer care, research and education in Manchester, were also chosen by EventCity, due to close connections with the team. The Christie provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds.
The beginning of 2019 will see the business review its charities once again and ensure it supports a further two worthy causes.
