PRESS RELEASE:

A crafty day out: thousands turn out for ICHF Events’ Stitching, Sewing & Hobbycrafts show in Manchester

ICHF Events welcomed more than 12,000 visitors to their first show of the year last week at EventCity in Manchester. The Stitching, Sewing & Hobbycrafts show took place from Thursday 4th to Saturday 6th February with over 100 exhibitors selling craft supplies for knitting, jewellery making, papercraft, cardmaking, sewing and quilting.

Simon Burns, joint managing director at ICHF Events said “We’re delighted with this fantastic turn out for our first show of 2016. It’s always a pleasure to return to Manchester and to meet so many visitors who are as passionate about craft as we are. The show looked brilliant with exhibitors and features really pulling out the stops to create stunning stands. We are busy preparing for the rest of our spring and look forward to returning to Manchester in the autumn.”

As well as craft exhibitors, the show featured the costumes from the hit 2015 movie ‘Far from the Madding Crowd’ as worn by award-winning Hollywood actors Carey Mulligan, Matthias Schoenaerts, Michael Sheen and Tom Sturridge. Visitors were also able to enjoy exhibitions by the Quilters Guild of the British Isles touring exhibition ‘Lost in a Quilters’ Garden’ and The National Needlework Archive’s one woman show by Carole Checketts.

Annette and Mike of exhibitor Tee Pee Crafts said: “We would like to congratulate ICHF on organising a very successful show at EventCity Manchester. We were extremely encouraged by the number of visitors to the show particularly on the Saturday, keeping us busy for all three days. We had some wonderful compliments regarding our stand from customers and staff alike. This is our second time exhibiting at this show and it is going from strength to strength.”
