EventCity Appoints New Head of Sales

EventCity in Manchester has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of Angela Perkins as its new Head of Sales.

Reporting to EventCity Managing Director Andy Orr, Angela will be responsible for heading the sales team, attracting new shows and events, as well as driving the business forward as part of the new Trafford City destination brand where EventCity is based.

Angela, who was recognised last year by Exhibition News as Best Venue Sales Person, brings over 10  years’ experience in senior sales roles for some of the UK’s largest exhibition venues – most recently for the Ricoh Arena in Coventry where she successfully built its event and show programme.

Angela’s appointment also brings the promotion of Jo Battersby, who has been promoted to the role of Senior Sales Manager.

Andy Orr, Managing Director of EventCity said: “Angela has a fantastic track record in venue sales and we’re delighted that she’s now actively on board at EventCity. Angela’s priority will be to develop the sales strategy to ensure we continue to attract a fantastic array of events as well as new high profile exhibitions that put us on the map nationally.”

Angela added: “I’ve joined EventCity at a really exciting time. The combination of a new hotel opening next to the venue in 2016 along with our position in the new Trafford City destination brand will only strengthen our proposition. Trade exhibitions are also emerging as a key area for us to tap into.”

As well as an award- winning salesperson, Angela is also a member on the board of trustees for the Memusi Foundation, which supports children in Sub Saharan Africa to escape poverty through education.
